Membership Classes

  • Individual
    • Any person sixteen years of age or older, of good character and dedicated to the purposes of the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks, is eligible for individual membership upon acceptance of his or her application by the Board of Directors and the payment of dues as established by the Board of Directors.
    • An individual member is entitled to one vote at meetings of the membership.
    • The individual membership fee is $15 per year.
  • Lifetime
    • Any person eligible to be an individual member is eligible for lifetime membership by resolution of the Board of Directors and the payment of dues as established by the Board of Directors.
    • A lifetime member is entitled to one vote at membership meetings.
    • The lifetime membership fee consists of a one-time payment of $150
  • Local friends group organization
    • Membership is available to local friends groups of state parks, forests, trails, and recreation areas by resolution of the Board of Directors and the payment of dues established by the Board of Directors.
    • The membership fee for such a group is $25 per year.
    • Each group is has one vote.

All Classes

Annual dues for all membership classifications are billed on an annual basis (12 months). The dues cover the period 12 months from the date of initial membership. Renewal notices are mailed 60 days before the membership expires.

Members in all classes of membership receive all reports of the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks. All members may attend the annual or other meeting of the Friends of Wisconsin tate Parks. Individual and lifetime members may become an officer or director of the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks. All membership classes can vote in any election or any other matter submitted to the membership for a vote. Employees of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources may be voting members of the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks, but they may not serve as officers or directors. Any member may be removed from the membership upon good cause and by unanimous vote at a Board of Directors meeting.
